I was talking with Melvin2001 the other day and he mentioned that I should start cataloging my locks. I figured I'd start off photographing what I had around the apartment (a LOT more in the car, plenty at work and some up in VT)

So, here's where I'm at so far. I'll keep updating this thread as I find/aquire more locks. I can certainly understand if any mod/admin would rather I include this in one of the "show us your locks" thread, but I hoped this would be taken in the same spirit as "mouse's musings" where I'll update it every so often instead of adding over and over again to the larger thread. Anyhow, if you'd rather I not, feel free to remove this and just drop me a PM.

Awesome...I've just discovered that every 8th one does this:

Anyway, what we have pictured below (and you'll see that there are a couple of sizing errors until I got the hang of a convenient size) are what was laying around the apartment. A couple shots of random housings, random plugs, and random assembled cylinders without keys. 2 With keys, 1 new lever lock across from 1 old lever (maybe) padlock. 4 warded padlocks, 3 of which are yale & townes. 1 Y&T Padlock, 2 SFICs, a fistful of laminated padlocks, a larger fistful of random padlocks, including the tiniest padlock I've ever seen.

6 Euro cylinders, there are 3x more of these, but each of those is to be distributed to Toool Boston board members. They came to us from Han Fey, in this picture, of note, is a GeGe.

4 locks (first pictures) I received from PickPick (who, when I saw his name, I realized I had met and respected him, so these hold an even better place in my collection as a result.) These include 2 Winkhaus, a Dom and an Abus dimple padlock.

My two medecos, and my Ademeco (?)

The first cutaway I ever tried to make (corbin) and some random key blanks. One cruciform lock and a few other random things, including some barrel and trigger locks.

Melvin2001 picked one of them open, but the shackled didn't give way, so they definitely need some cleaning.

if they were mine i would leave them as they are.
you don't need to open them anyway, just look at them

I've spent weeks trying to get my hands on a Wii, with no success :-(

I'll trade you a euro profile for a Wii :-)

May I suggest the Lockenpedia for such an endeavor

Just setup a private collection category under your own name and all your images can be identified as yours in addition to any other category that applies.

but seriously... dude.... holy crap, like jacknco said, i thought i had a ton of locks... but man, you have like 80 dimple locks, 50 medecos, and a whole crapload of antiques, and 5000 padlocks... thats a-ma-za-zing :lol:

you guys are impressed... this is like 1/10 of the locks that reside in our house right now. and then there's a billion more in the car. a billion more at his desk. a billion more in his pockets. there are locks everywhere. we are up to our ears in locks. just when i think maybe he has enough, there are suddenly a billion more locks.
