cheap new tension wrench material!

i have discovered a cheap new tension wrench material that i have never heard anyone mention before. and i just barely found it.

people in the US might be more familiar with these than others outside the US, or maybe its a regional thing.

do you know those cheap foldable laundry baskets? the kind that are made of like mesh netting stuff? that have springy metal that curves on certain angles? well guess what? it is a very good material to use for tension wrenches! in fact, my laundry basket (i now need a new one.......) is about 3' tall, and foursided. this makes for four 5'-6' long pieces of strong, springy steel (i think its steel at least).

its about the same as windshield wiper inserts. except that you have to polish these up a bit more. they are strong, a little bit harder to cut with needle nose pliers than the wiper inserts. the only bad side so far, is that it does appear to be a bit more brittle when bending it at a sharp angle. i snapped one side off on accident. however, i am only using two pairs of pliers to dry bend it (no heat).

so have at it! a new cheap source of tension wrench materials! im sure someone with the cajones and know how will figure out the best way to treat it with a heat source, i would, but all i have for a heat source is cigarette lighters (not going to work.)

this spring steel first started appearing in photographers reflectors, there are various different sizes of the metal, I have used some of it to make miniature bogotas for the really tiny locks.

I'm not to sure, but just by taking a guess, I would say instead of making them with a 1/4" chainsaw file, make them by half the scale using a 1/8 or 3/16 file.

yeah, unfortunately, probably not til tomorrow. this thread (like many i start) dont seem to get far before dying. *sigh* so i didnt think anyone would actually ask. so yeah, probably tomorrow after work (ill be home by 8:30 pm PST [gmt-8])

to cut some off her basket.
heh heh.... anyone in need of some extra underwire ?
(would be funnier if bras were still in basket when she returned, without wire)

That is not appropriate behaviour, not in real life and not in here. If you want those bra-things or some other source of wire, you go and buy some yourself or scavange discarded material from trashes.
