Kassakaappi Lever Lock Breakdown

I got this on ebay for $60 with shipping. The seller had some other interesting lever locks, but they sold for $120.
It's a nine-lever with anti-picks, and the key is about 9 inches long.

I finally got my computer back, and got my camera up and running and was about to post my newest post of interest. I chose a bad night for it.

I'm trying to figure out how the key tips work. If you look in the picture with the keys, you can see they either detach from the key stem or they are interchangeable.
Thanks, I love taking pictures of my collection! Right now I'm looking for a Rosengrens RKL-10 and a Fichet Monopole. I can't find either right now

Nice pictures n2oah.

The dug-out on the bolt step of the key is for a check lever. The lever will block if the dug-out is not present. So if you put a key with the same cuts but a straight bit in the lock, it won't open. Basically a copy protection measure.

I'm very sorry to bump this topic up, but I noticed the "Kassakaappi Oy Helsinki" text in the key. "Kassakaappi" is finnish and means a safe. "Helsinki" is the capital city here in Finland and it is also the place where this lock has been made. "Oy" (abbreviation) or "osakeyhtiÃ¶" means a company is in stock markets.

Googling "Kassakaappi Oy Helsinki" gives the companys history at least in finnish, but it also revealed that the company is nowadays known as Kaso.

Kassakaappi Oy has been started 1944, so your lock might be very old

Seriously, that is one sexy lock. And you got it for a nice price aswell! Do you have any clues as to where your lock came from? Any lock like that has a personal history that mustnt be overlocked!
