Snapper for European Cylinders

Postby Hausfreund » 1 Apr 2007 9:27

hi guys,

i'm searching for a snapper which hits the pins downwards!

i searched the whole board,
but i can't find an idea for this!

Holding the Snapper by Sams choice upside down isn't really a good way,
my fingers stillt hurt^^

ps: i know, my english is really bad, please excuse...

pps: yes, i already used google and the board search...

thx
Florian

Well the normal thing is to turn it upside down but i can desgin you somthing very quickly, i think there was somthing on site but even i cant remember where or when it was posted so wouldnt expect you to find it,

If you think about it logically you will sort it out but ill have a play with some wire and post back later the design to do it the opposite way around for you unless some uber super searcher comes up wiuth the thread that has previously had this discussed,

i'm quite trained in picking by hands, but an snapper would be a great method to train, until i got the money for a manual gun^^

Ive come up with two designs but im sure one of them must just be a copy from somthing ive seen as it looks familier,

I will post them in a bit once ive drawn them,

Before that i have to ask why dont you just turn the lock over?

You should have it in a vice as playing with locks in use is a no-no so simply hold it the other way up,

If you are trading you shouldnt be useing one of these on the job so all in all theres not really an issue of what you have not working,

Right this is a really crap drawing but you should get the idea,

The other design i couldnt draw very well and its unlikely you would get it to work properly but it basically used a trigger that pushed a sprung part of the wire up and then when the trigger slipped off the arm it snaps down,

ok, shrub, i get your questino know^^
cause i'm in training for the freestyle-comeptition (ssd eV.),
and there often the locks are installed in partf of a door, so,
i can't turn it upside down!
your designs are like my first tries,
but the problem there is, that in this design the needle have to be snap,
if i want to snap with the hook, it began to be difficult in handling?!

thats my problem!

just a trigger

Postby raimundo » 1 Apr 2007 11:57

where the hook comes under the needle, it has to go back up to keep the needle trapped so it cant escape the hit, but in these drawings, it ends there, it should take a direct down turn and end in a pistoltrigger, also, you may want to move the spring coil to the upper rear area where the right angle is now.

Ah ok that makes perfect sence, its a series of comps i would have liked to enter,

Do you have to use this style of design or can you/do you want to use somthing else?

Ive loads of ideas on pick guns and am curreently designing one that can be made with elastic bands and other household items and with little tools or skil have yourself a working gun afterwards rather like a epg,

I don't want to appear impolite, but where did you get that poppy _ from? In all german competitions only the locks are passed on and you can decide for yourself whether you want to put it in a vice, open it in your hand or lay it on the table.
We don't open doors or partial doors during competitions and public demonstrations because we are lock openers, not door openers and we want people to know that.

Apart from that while I don't think it's a bad idea to be able to open an installed lock (I had to help quite a lot of locked out friends since I started picking) it's very difficult to do it with a snapper because the way your finger are arranged make it difficult to use on european style locks. Do yourself a favor and get a pickgun.
It's not the tools that open the lock. It's me.
