Is this lock pickable?

Postby Naal » 4 Apr 2007 9:45

Hi!
I'd like to have your thoughts about the lock of my house door.
Here's some pics:

It's really a weird key, you don't see much of these

Thanks! See ya

Do you live in france? it looks like one of the locks from chez/montmartre,serruresdehautesecurite' I am not gonna say I can pick it because Ive never seen one of them, Can you buy that in your local hardware store? How much? Does that type of key/mechanism come also on padlocks?

Hey!
I found a good page, where you can have a lotta bigger pictures:
http://protectvol.online.fr/fichet787.html

I do live in France. When i moved in my appartment the lock was already there. I once lost my key, we had to buy a new one and it cost us about 150$, just for 1 key. aint cheap...

I am not going to say it cannot be picked, but you have a very secure lock that is highly pick resistant and also bump proof.

For what it is worth, I do not classify the abloy protec as pick proof either. I consider it a highly pick resistant lock.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

Its a fichet, and im guessing from the image names its a 787. although I don't believe Deep linking is allowed on this forum.

As for the lock i don't have any experience with them but i hear good things about them. discussion of opening these will be restricted to the advanced forums.

All the best

This lock could be pickable.

If you are a beginner better try somethin else  .

Please note that I've never seen such a lock. My theory is just based on your pictures.

Its a Fichet lock and it is pickable by a good picker, ive a couple of these locks and they are master pieces inside,

Ive removed the picking suggestions and hot linked images as neither are allowed,

Im also locking the thread as its discussion for the advanced forums only im afraid,

You deserve a pat on the back, well done for being so sensible,

NIC, yes it is simular but only in the same way as a tubular pick is, it is closer to the latter
