Hi:
I was looking for info on the Sargent ASSA V-10 and I came up on this link. Clicking on the keys, on most images, provides an exploded view of receiving lock.

Anyone worked with the ASSA V-10??

i've worked with the v-10, but it doesn't have anything to do with sargent, assa is it's own company and it's parent company is abloy.

ASSA Abloy seems to own everything.

The V-10 (and any other sidebar lock) is considered high-security so we can talk about the mechanism, but anything about picking technique is Advanced forums only.
The Schlage Primus is very similar but its sidebar pins must be rotated as well as lifted to the correct position, like a Medeco.

This is just a shameful reminds of how pansy the USA's locks are. All we have is Medeco and the Schlage Primus. In our defense, Medeco owns a lot of the so-called "high security" locks out there. A lot of those dimple locks by virtue of being bump-proof alone.

I didn't want to discuss picking it, I was just enamored with it. I linked out of Lockpicking101 to the Sargent site and was looking at there security locks and it said "uses"... Asylums and detention centers. That peaked my insterest. As I was trying to learn about the lock, mostly, how much does it cost?? I came across the link I gave above with all the security keys/locks. Then when I clicked on the keys and saw all the (imagine Homer Simpson drewelling and saying) "exploded views"... well, I had to share!! I enjoy th exploded views!!

I don't know if you are taking my use of owns literally (I was using it in the pwns sense not possession), or if you're not and I am incorrect about Medeco being an American company.
