the general concensus pretty much everywhere is: if it's in your own home then there's no problem.

As long as you keep it at home and only use it at home you shouldn't draw any problems. The only time I could think of where you carry them with you is when you are going to your local locksport meet (if one exists in your area) or when a friend locks himself out of his home and you have been asked to and also have implicit permission to open that door.
