I've been meaning to get to this for a couple weeks now, but since I'm in review-writing mode...
I recently purchased a pick from LockNewbie21 (Andy). I've noticed over the last while that he'd developed quite a reputation as a pick maker, so I really wanted to see his work for my own eyes.
The immediate reaction upon pulling the pick (and tension wrench) out of the package was that it looked HOT. Andy has clearly put a lot of thought and effort into every aspect of pick making. The shapes of the picks were both functional and attractive. To a certain extent, it seemed somewhat "different for the sake of being different", but I saw nothing wrong with that. Much of the detail doesn't appear to me to have any specific benefit to the actual use of the pick, but it makes it look really, really cool... and I like that. Now, if the picks weren't very good, and all the rest was just eye-candy, I would have been disappointed. But the picks did not disappoint in the least bit. Their finish was wonderfully polished and smooth and the handles are exceptionally well made and well thought out.
Very nice work Andy! I'm well pleased with them, and the reputation was warranted!
