PLEASE HELP!!!

I have a lock that I fitted on a box. It is the type of lock that the key, instead of having the normal zig-zag on it for a pin-tumbler, it has holes on the key. Could u please, A) tell me what this type of lock is called, B) tell me how to pick or bump it. I do not know the make of the lock. but any help would be greatly apreciated!

it sounds to be a dimple lock, maybe you take a photo an host it somewhere like photobucket, an show us it,

but regards to bumping and picking im not sure if its advanced material so i cant help..

Ye thats the type of lock, i looked at google image and its that type of lock, any ideas as to where to get a bump key for it?

No, we don't tell you. First, you are a newcomer. Second, you haven't provided anything that shows it is your lock. Third, correct me if I'm wrong, but picking/bypassing/bumping dimple locks are preserved to the advanced forum.

End of story.

I have been lockpicking for about a month now... and have the 11 piece SouthOrd set. Err... the lock is mine, and why does that concern u anyway? No need to be so agressive. and how do u gain access to this "advanced forum"?

Vsca, I havn't been around this website for too long, but it is to my knowledge that you must provide a picture of yourself holding the lock you are enquiring about. This is to stop petty theifs from gaining access into locks which arn't their's. And your new, so that's another reason people might not trust you. Can you please tell us,

Is the box yours,

What sort of box,

What is the box made from,

Why you cant use the key,

Where is the key,

What lock make is it,

What type of lock is it,

How is the lock fitted to the box,

What is in the box,

If its important as your title suggests you should already have called a locksmith by now so maybe all this is redundant, a title like that suggests its pretty much life or death so i hope your ok,

As Marco said, you haven't provided any proof yet that the lock you talk about is yours. Plain and simple, provide a picture of the said box opened (o show you are the owner of the box) or the lock detached from the box or something similar, so that we could judge based on what you provide. Don't take this as an offence, this just is the way to get info around here

Because I nor anyone else haven't seen a picture or proof of your ownership over the lock, we (I) can only imagine that you have a box with no key and the box is your dads liquor storage

I'm sorry if I sound cruel or something, but I can't think of anything else at the moment unless you provide those pictures/proof.

My computor is a mac (macs are amazing) but i do not have the software to sync the camera, I will buy a memory card reader when i can afford one. i now understand why u asked that the box is mine. Its a box i made in collage in my DT class. I fitted the lock that i found at home in the garage. I am sorry if i sounded on the deffensive.

Do you mean that MACs aren't capable of handling TWAIN-sources? Every imagehandling program I now (PhotoShop, GIMP, IrfanView) understands TWAIN-sources and can download the pictures you want from the camera, so I have to wonder if MAC doesn't have thing like that :shock:

MAC owners, don't crucify me, I'm not sure on this as I don't own a MAC, but there has to be either that feature or something similar.

its ok i just unscrewed the box. It was just something i made years ago before GCSE. So it is't very well made.

Jaakko - For reference, recent versions of the Mac OS can download images from most cameras without any special software. I can't say for certain without knowing the camera model and OS version, but they should work together without much difficulty. If drivers are needed, they're most likely available on the manufacturer's web site.
