Hi everybody, still on holliday but could not resist sending a thought :D

I,m pretty sure I read a posting some time ago about the idea of creating a thingy 8) to read a picked lock.In this case this piece of machinery makes a drawing of the inside of the picked lock.

Did anyone manage to make something like that?

tell me,please!!!! :D

Or is this item for ahum....the other side???!!!!

just kidding,it must be the sun overhere in sunny Spain.....

Lock decodeing is advanced discussion im afraid but yes there are such tools but are aimed at the wafer locks vehicles use,

Pull the tool out the lock and it draws the key on a sticker that you then stick to a key and cut it,

But the wafer lock tools are designed for locks that are still closed.
The problem with a tool to decode a picked cylinder is that there's not really a market for it.
You either use a fancy decoder on a lock that's still closed or you pick it, get it out of the door, disassemble it, measure the pins and put it all back together. Far easier than building a fancy decoder that has to be customized for all sorts of keyways and lock specific stuff.
It's not the tools that open the lock. It's me.

Locks can be decoded with a hook pick after it is picked open, then a little impressioning may be necessary to finish. Although there may not be an obvious reason to do this, think repo.

I think maxxed means that you can gauge an idea for the depth each cut has to be at, punch out/cut a key that is slightly shallower than that and impression on to it. This would accelerate the impressioning process for deep cuts (assuming you could pick the lock and partially decode it faster than doing the impressioning from scratch).

Dont get your hopes up, as i say once in there most simply lock up and dont post anything, some have never posted on site again after being let in even some so called bigish names that went and started their own forums up cant be bothered to come back and add to the comunity so dont expect anything and then you will be pleasantly supprised,
