Hooply locks

Postby Schuyler » 9 Apr 2007 9:21

OK,

I just sent an email to the fine folks at hooply.com asking if they shipped to the US, but I was wondering, first, if anyone on here has seen, used or picked one of these locks:

(only two pictures I can really find of them)

it appears to be a dimple lock of some sort with a transponder in it... or so says the description

the transponder text seems to stay up with most of the links, do you think it has the three sets of pins the picture seems to indicate? The key doesn't look as complex as the body of the lock does.

euro

Postby raimundo » 9 Apr 2007 9:51

is that to work as a euro cylinder? the second photo makes it look more likely would seem to have three bibles with the brass caps on the outside of the body. but the key is flat dimpled, so pins ride on the edges as well as the flat of the key.

I thought so, too, and admittedly the pictures aren't very well detailed, but the flats of the keys in the first picture don't seem to have any marks on them. I mean, maybe those are just blanks? Or the picture just isn't detailed enough? I could believe either.

Thanks, Shrub, that second picture you've got makes me even more interested. I can't navigate that site to save my life though, so I'm hoping the hoopy.cn folks will get back to me.

I'd be interested in getting one depending upon the price...

I hope it goes through, I'd like to have those on my doors. Usually, though, those chinese-based companies want you to order a million at a time.
