Dimple Lock?

I wanna buy a dimple lock (don't care what brand) and a bump or impression key for it.

Anybody know of any dimple locks used in the UK and where i could get a bump or impresioning key for the lock.

If u do know could u tell me where i could buy this stuff?

err... i would have prefured a bit more guidence... i have a good understanding and general understanding on some types of lock. These dimpe locks are new to me.

If somebody could just read over my first post and answer my actual question that would be great,

Are there any dimple locks that also imply pin tumbler systems as this would be easy to make a key for and be somewhat more secure, I would think.

I'd say UW hit the nail on the head with eBay, honestly. You can machine your own bump key out of a blank if you'd like, just get a drill press, or be really careful with a hand drill.

Or if the OP wants to impression, then try that first and if not succeeding, then cut a bump key from it

Go for somthing like a MTL Garrison or somthing, dimple locks arent really a homebrew lock for us if you want more varity look to the netherlands etc,

E-bay is your best bet, put in dimple lock and see what come up and work from there,

If you want a small cheap route look for the kaba key switches often found on mobility scooters, they are only somthing like a 4 pin or so but a good introduction if a little small

As regards an impression key they are the same as a bump key,

Ps, Jaakko, the regular way to impression a dimple lock is a slightly differant technique that normal impressioning so you would actually start off with a bum key instead of somthing that you could later cut to one

anyway i have no way to make my own bump key... Can ANYBODY think of any places i can buy one from? (still talking about dimple lock abviously)

Thats the only way you will do it at home and obviously has been suggested,

If you dont have a drill then you are in the stum, go to a dealer of the lock you get and ask for a key cut to code otherwise,

Thanks for your correction I wasn't quite paying attention at the time of posting and I was just thinking the "regular" impressioning. When I read your post I started to visualize in my mind a video where Barry impressioned a dimple lock and remembered that yeah, he started with a bump key
