Again today I find myself agreeing with Eyes_Only. Use some UV reacting paint or dye, I'm sure it will be more visible than soap and it won't become pasty and sticky.

Actually the stuff Eyes_Only is talking about has lubricant in it already. You can pick it up at most auto part stores relatively cheap too. AutoZone and O'Rilies both carry it. I do not know what happens after it drys out. It is meant to be mixed in a compressed line with freon which is what keeps it wet. I would experiment on spare parts to see what happens. Also not sure if there will be a reaction to brass. I cannot think of any parts in an AC system that are brass.

Good Luck and let us know.

But really, brass is really corrodable so I've kinda lost intrest in it.
(invest in spares; saves headaches)

"...Spy shops usually sells UV pens that has ink which glows under UV light."

"...cat urine does in fact glow under a blacklight."

Anyone wonder what type of ink they use for UV pens...?

Actually I'm in the states. I have a 93 F150 4x4 with a 351 - Dual exhaust, Lifted with big mudding tires. ~ Trust me, theres nothing fancy about it. My AC line fittings are aluminum or steel, I dont remember which. My wifes car is a brand new VW beetle and hers are also steel or aluminum, again, don't remember which.

As I said "I cannot think of any parts in an AC system that are brass." I used the work 'think' because I do not know for a fact if there are or not.

Maybe you could invest your time into inventing a brass magnet? ;)
