I am 26 and I started lockpicking to help prevent theft at my job.I never knew how fun it was and what lock picking entailed. This trade is very exciting.I never knew a lock could even be picked until a couple of weeks ago.no lie.so you can see why I sound like a kid with a key to any candy store.

Can I ask how you learning lockpicking helps prevent theft at your job? I'm curious.

It helps me to understand locks. Our company has alot of locks on storage areas, fences, file cabinets, offices and so on.I can pick most of them and I have been lockpicking for 1 month now.My company is the biggest container yard in the united states. We have over 200 acres of company property that me and the other security staff have to secure 24/7/365.Our security consists of 16 people and one or more know how to pick locks. We have not seen them in the act but it is the only reasonable explanation for what has happened. We have not changed the locks yet.we have set up survailence. So the answer to the question is I am learning to find the best way to secure our company.

Little offtopic, but get Abloy locks there and you don't have to worry about someone picking them open ;)

You might want to get a forensic examination at some point. While it won't show who did (you've got the surveillance for that) it can prove whether locks were picked or not and how many locks were picked. Which is good to know in case someone is caught but only admits to one or two incidents.
Contrary to popular opinion picking is not done without a trace.
It's not the tools that open the lock. It's me.

got some picks from my grandpa from when he was a locksmith

when i found out more info i started making my own

in high school the metal work shop uses alot of hacksaw blades so i had an unlimited supply of them and of course being metal work i had the tools ( bench grinder, dremel , forgde etc etc to do the work i needed to make picks and tention wrenches

so i got heavly into in when i was 15 but really had my first picks when i was 12 or 13

so i dont know i hope when im older ill get better at picking locks from all the years of doing it . i am now 16
