Competition breeds innovation. but it also breeds price wars and shoddy workmanship from hacks and cowboys.

I know the UK is much more into locks and CCTV, American's tend to be lazy and leave their doors unlocked because 'it will never happen to me' and American's seem to be very paranoid of CCTV cameras, where I seem to notice in the UK you have a lot and unless I'm wrong, people don't seem to mind them as much.

It is interesting that you have so many lockies..

What country are you in? In US if you have a juv. charge it is a sealed record (excepet for review in federal cases) thus having no effect when your an adult. Unless of course it is one of those kill, rape deals then they will find out

In England I did not think a criminal record prevented you becoming a locksmith. And you can start your own buisness the day you get out of prison.

In the US, juv. records are not properly sealed as they should be. I have seen employees' background check reports, and they reveal things like shoplifting and school fights, as young as age 13 and 15.

Also, my dad had a possession charge when he was 17, and it came back to haunt him when he was 53. A place he worked for over 3 decades required him to goto the county clerks office to obtain records that prove the charge was dropped, and he also had to attend some counseling sessions.

It is foolish to believe your juv. record won't haunt you. They are NOT actively sealed, and over a hundred background check companies have complete access to them without the need for your written consent.

That is true but when the case is fresh and gets closed you CAN get it sealed, this is somthing that HAS to be done in the current case procedures(NOT afterwords) Trust me I had a poss. charge then applied to every placce you could imagine when I was deemed "an ADULT" and to this day the only people to open my case have been the army and the feds.
