for anyone who knows, what is the long L shaped pick in the navigator set is for? I have the brockage set and would like to know what this pick is for.

I do believe that's Rogan's idea of a feeler pick. That thing should be able to get just about anywhere.
I really have to get one of these sets for myself. They're just bloody difficult to find around here. It would be the equivalent to finding a Dominion Lock Company pick set.
I would love to find one of those sets intact. One fellow on here has the busted handle from one of their picks. When I saw it, it was like a relic from the past.

Okay, just making sure -- I wouldn't have called it L-shaped.
I'm nearly positive that it's for reading wafer locks. You read the number on the first wafer, lift it with this tool, and then read the number on the second wafer, etc etc. With these numbers and a key machine, you can produce a key.
I've used it as a hook pick once or twice, in situations where the key was very cramped.

I agree with Spider, It looks like a wafer reader.

"CLEAR!" *ZAP*
Ok, now that this thread has been resuscitated.
I'm seriously considering buying this set because I'm addicted to hooks and I havn't heard one bad thing about this set except for "what's a wafer reader anyway".
so the picks look as if they are ultra-ergonomic, but I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what they are like to use on locks that are "upside down" or sideways like are commonly found in Australia and europe.
are they awkward that way?

I’ve been hearing a lot about these Brockage Navigator sets and HPC and Rytan picks/tension tools/plug spinner. If anyone knows where I could get a hold of some of these it would be greatly appreciated. When a locksmith came over to my house he told me that his supplier equips him with HPC picks. Do you think there is a way I can get some from him somehow? Thanks for all the help

WhiteHat: one 'bad' thing about the Brockhage Navigator set is that many of the picks are too big and too thick to fit in European (or narrow) keyways. I actually use only 1 pick from the set, have not found much use for the others.
The tension wrenches work well, though.
