indeed it is, it's mostly running conduit, mounting the hardware, wiring the two ends together, then booting a computer and inerfacing the two together. The ability to read engineers plans, as well as being able to understand engineers (those guys can be a weird bunch) are also a good skills to have.

Yeah, back in when I was in technical school for automotive training we had a instructor who was an engineer. This guy knew so many facts. He had another engineer friend who would roll a pencil across a table and could tell you the exact coefficent and drag or something like that of that pencil but could never seem to wear matching shoes. These people live in a totally different world.
