Help
One of the church's in town recently closed. Another church in a different town acquired the tabernacle.
Now here comes the problem the key is lost. It appears to have been some type of barrel key. There is a number on the top of the door frame 4996b . Could this be a code ? Any help in this matter would be appreciated.
Thanks Dick

best thing you can do is call a locksmith, you'll be able to get a new key cut/made too.

Your local locksmith should be of much more assistance than the first Google search result.

This doesn't seem like something a church would lose a key for. but either way calla locksmith you wouldn't want to go damaging anything like this.

Every Tabernacle I've seen up close has a lever lock or a warded lock on it. I would recommend checking in the Sacristy for a key laying about. I've only seen someone keep these keys on their person in a monastic setting. To loose this key seems monumentally careless. I would call a locksmith, easiest would be one who happens to advertise in the new church's bulletin.
