Hi,
I have a Whitco Dobule Cylinder Deadbolt that i want to remove. At 3 and 9 o'clock it has 2 holes that look like you can insert an allen key into them. However, i have tried all allen keys out of my 9pcs none of them would unscrew them.
anyone knows am i using the correct tool or i will need other tools for these two holes?
thanks for your help!

You only tried 9 allen keys no? Did you try both English and Metric?

Hi Chucklz
just bought another set of allen keys it has
1.5,2,2.5,3,4,5,6mm
1/16",5/64",3/32",1/8",5/32",3/16",7/32"
14pcs this time
i assume half of them is English and the other half is Metric? I'll give it a go again tonight. Thanks

Oh, are you sure there is an allen screw in there? I haven't even heard of your brand of lock, but not all double cylinder deadbolts fasten with allen screws. Take a look with a good flashlight and see.
Oh, and it is a piece of information that is tucked away in my brain but I don't know how useful it may be. The Lori deadbolt apparently requires a long allen key, but beyond that I have no other information.

Yeah i used a torch and looked into the holes i could see a hex pattern like screw head there. Thanks for your information anyway.

Well if you see the Allen pattern, you should be able to find a wrench that fits. If it doesn't turn, it may be stuck in with lock-tite. Just try a bit harder. Or, perhaps these screws are reverse threaded. I don't know why they would be, but who knows.

that should work, unless someone has pounded tiny ball bearings into the allen heads. that does happen sometimes as a measure to prevent unscrewing.

its all good guys. One of the 14 allen keys worked this fine.
Anyone knows where i can get a keying kit in Sydney? It seems so hard to get one if you're not a locksmith.
I managed to rekey the new lock last night by using the some spare pins from my old locks. But would be handy to have a set of pins.

Oh an old post, but my lock is old. Real life saver. I thought I had tried every Allen Key available, and all the other security keys. After reading of your success I bought one more pack of allen wrenches and all is well. I was very close to calling a pro. Thanks Heaps Larry

As long as a thread helps others or answers a long standing question, it's alright to reply to something from 11 years ago, lol. It would help if you told us what size wrench you used, and I am curious if the Lori deadbolt is the same thing as a Whitco double cylinder deadbolt, or if you actually have a Lori and it had whitco mortise cylinders in it. The Lori deadbolts use a 5/64" long allen wrench, as can be purchased here: http://www.mrlock.com/manufacturers-1-1 ... 00-80-4016Squelchtone

This thread was helpful to me. I have a 8-piece Trojan Imperial Allen Key set and it fit 1/8. Thanks everybody.
