Good Lockpick Tool

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Memorize a locksmiths phone number. No one on the forum will help you with your question.

I usually just keep a spare car key in my wallet. I lock my keys in my car approximately 2-3 times a month so this really helps. It's also a good idea to join AAA if locking yourself out of your car is a major concern and frequent habit of yours.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Why do you think burglaries happen or why someone steals your car? Because those type of people do it for A) fun, B) 'cause they are drunk, C) they need a getaway vehicle, D) all the above.

So yes there is multiple persons who would steal your car. And they would steal it more probably than any other, because it is easy to steal.

And no, I don't have personal experiences about stealing, except my storage room in the basement was once emptied :(

On the topic of car thefts:

My uncle's newly leased pickup with all of his contractor and construction tools was hijacked and involved in a high-speed police chase while my uncle was out of town. The hijacker totaled the vehicle, rolling it several times and slamming it into a tree. My uncle got a call from a neighbor telling him about it, and I can only imagine how he reacted.

I did not believe the story until a letter came in the mail with a clipping of the article from his local newspaper. I heard later that insurance was refusing to pay, and many of his tools/toolboxes were destroyed. He made his living with that car and the equipment he had in it. This is a completely true story, and a very very good reason auto information is not discussed on the open forum!!

Im sorry to hear about that.
I also agree with what you said about restricting the car forum.

<sighs>

I guess there are those that will always try and scam those in the know.

Third the idea of keeping this off the main boards. It's just inviting trouble if it's out here...
