Are these easy to unlock

I just got a Sentry 1100 fire protective safe box....I store some valueable stuff in there and I have a thief in my household.....Are these locks hard to pick...Should I invest in something new?

i would say yes, they are easy to open if you know what your doing.
if the thief is a lockpicker i would invest in a better safe. if not a lockpicker keep the sentry.

heres a thread about the 1100

Yeah i picked it once it took me a while though... but if you arent experienced in picking locks then probably it would be to hard to pick.
It is a wafer lock i think if it isnt please notify me. thank you...

I have a Sentry 1900 that uses a tubular lock and it's still easy to open. Popped it open with a cardboard tube trick. They don't even bother to use a Ace II on it. Sad. I think their main concern is to keep your valuables protected during a fire rather than theft with these low level "safes".

Sentry is pure crap. I get called monthly to open them when they fail on customers. I wouldn't trust it -- and fire safes are no good against a prybar anyway. The insulation is soft.

I saw a few sample versions out on display at Office Depot a while ago and one of the small fire safes was pryed open and completely ruined. I dunno how anyone did it without attracting attention but the entire locking area was snapped off.
