Excellent cleaner for locks

Some brands of brake cleaners can really mess up plastic too. Before I knew better I used it to try to clean my safety glasses at work and might as well have rubbed it down with 50 grit sandpaper. Same effect.

Glass Etch is usually NH4F, HF, or a mixture of the two. EXTRAORDINARILY nasty stuff.. You DO NOT WANT this stuff on you. I've used some of the scariest chemicals and toxins you can name (things that put you on certain government lists), but only Perchloric and Hydrofluoric acids give me any pause at all. Playing with glass etch is a great way to earn a darwin award.
