I exchanged PM with zeke79 about my problem with losing log-in status on this forums despite checking "stay logged in" box. He says another member was having the same issue.
Anybody else find yourself logged out everytime you come back here?

Have you checked cookie settings in IE privacy settings?
Is there third party antispyware/antivirus software on your system thats deleting cookies?
Just a guess.

I haven't had to re-login for quite a while so checking your settings sounds like good advice.

I'm a member of a number of forums and this happens from time to time. If you're not staying logged in when you return, delete the lockpicking101.com cookie from your computer while your browser is closed. Once that's done, come back to lp101.com and log in again, making sure to check the option to remain logged in. That should solve the problem for you.
If you're running XP, the cookie can usually be found at: C:\Documents and Settings\<your_XP_username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files. Search for cookie:<your_XP_username>@lockpicking101.com
Hope that works for you!

Unless, of course, you're using Firefox... in which case you'll never have this problem. :>

I'm running the latest version of FireFox. Clearing the cookie hasn't quite solved the issue. I still lose the log-in

Yes it happens to me now and again except yesterday when i came on i had to log in and my account had been reset in that there were no posts since last visit threads!!!
There is a site that has usernamres and passwords on for various forums etc, this site is on it,
What happens is that some lame arse thicko doesnt realise this site is free to see even without an account so they think they are getting one over on us by making an account then posting the username and passwords up on that site for anyone to use if they dont want to be known,
What this does is two things, we bad the account and ip address and also anyone wanting to see the site in this way then trys your account and ends up jamming it up because the password has been entyered wrongly too many times, i came on on once and was told i had to wait 30 mins before i could log in!!!
Its only one of what could be hundreds of solutions and problems,
I just simply double click my user name and the password is put back in the box and i log in again,

Same here, I have experienced the no new post thing. I've also had a couple of times in the last week where I received the Topic Reply Notice and the thread did not show in the new post section, but I could pull it up manually.
The majority of time when I've been logged out without logging out was when we were experiencing site problems.

I think you can only remain logged into the site if your IP address has not changed. This makes sense to me, as I tend to have to log in after a power outage or DSL modem reset. I'm willing to bet that phpBB forces you to log in again if it detects your IP has changed in conjunction with your cookie data.
