Thanks for the suggestions on what lock to go with next. I have no doubt the Medeco is over my head right now but I'm as stubborn as they come and won't let a lock beat me. I'll see if I can find those American's on Ebay.

Sorry about the pics all.

just go to Lowe's or Home Depot.. American Lock is sold at one of those stores. with price and shipping, ebay isnt always the better deal.

Thanks for the info squelchtone. I've actually already checked our Home Depot and they only carry Masterlock padlocks. No Lowe's for miles either.....

I did find a website that has a nice selection of new padlocks and the prices seem reasonable. Cheap fun if you ask me 8)

i just started getting back into lock picking, and man, the few months i spent not doing it really took its toll. Struggling to open master padlocks :( . Anyway I still have a brinks shrouded I have yet to tackle, i guess i'll see if some of these hints help me out.

So i'm still working on this thing...trying to figure out the best method of approach. I'm using a pretty similar pick to the one in the pictures shown on the previous page, and a "wiper insert" as using a tension wrench in the bottom is a waste of time.

Anyhow, i can get it to rotate a bit, im assuming this is the false set, and i can do that by simply pushing the second pin all the way up (not even touching anything else). After that, all the pins are stuck...pushing on some of the pins will cause it to rotate back...but then all the pins seem sticky..or they all just fall down when i rotate...so it seems like im back to square one when it false sets..

Am i trying to pick the other pins before the false set? Or false set it, then pick the other pins..

Looking a the key though...the second pin shouldn't be all the way up so i'm not really sure what method to attempt here.

help appreciated!

I do not believe that either sell american brand locks, but I would be pleased to learn differently.
