chubb 3u114e picked with standard chris belcherpick and wire

yes i know but what im saying is and is pictured on the new safeventures site under the union b/s decoder is a chubb 3u115 union guise.
so why is there a 3u chubb decoder sold as well when the union bs decoder does the 3u115?
am i missing something?

The original Chubb Upgrader was a gold case, 5 reverse levers and similar to the Union 2101 but different levers.

The 3U114E has a different curtain to the Union and yale models and the Union decode Kit wont always open the chubbs due to the curtain being too tight, so I would imagine that is why they make a seperate one for the Chubb.

ive never had a problem with the chubb 3u114E on union decoder, its only the older 3U114 locks that the make up key wont turn in, though because of the curtain it is significantly tighter.

also if you look at the upgrader in comparison to the union kit, you will see that it does not open the 3U114E locks with a number 7 lever in, as the key is made to the height of a number 6 lift, also wont open the newer version of the 3U115 lock as cut higher than the lowest lift, this is because it was made for the lock that mark mentioned.
It will however open all union yale and chubb 3U locks without the lower lift in it.

if the chubb 3g114 does not have low levers off the top of my head i think that it is the 7 or 8 lever it will not pick or at least not easily. but if your lucky enough to have a lock without these levers it will pick. if your used to picking the b.s. union or the like you should not have too much bother.
chris does a pick that lifts the no. 8 lever to the 7 position to allow you to get your wire under so if you have this pick you will also be able to pick it otherwise you'll need the safe ventures pin and cam which will open it in under 10 minutes or 5 if your used to it. but it's £350 + vat

sorry i just read the post properly but it still applies only you want the 3u decoder. i think it's about £190 +vat very well worth it if you can afford it then it doesn't matter what levers you get you'll still get it open.

Incorrect !

The 3u114 is not the lock the 3U pick was made for, the 3U pick was made for the 3U115 lock, the non bs , as the make up key is made to the Number 6 height, therefore unless you have the make up key machined down to the No7 height and introduce a new row of pins for the No6 height, it cannot pick a Chubb 3U114 with a number 7 lever in it.

so the 3U kit although handy isnt the tool for this lock, the union kit is the one, as the 3U and the union 2134 are the same lock, just tighter curtain, worth noting that the union kit struggles on some of the older 3U locks as the curtains are too tight.
