Will this number make key

V11861 is stamped on back of a Yale Combo/Key lock pictured at:

I found the combination written in pencil on the back and that works but I have no key. I'm guessing the key does not lock the dial but will also open the lock as this is a cheap lock.
I'm wondering if the number "V11861" stamped on the back is intended to enable key making. Comments please.

most likely thats a code number, there is some chance that a locksmith will be able to cut a key with that number and the name of the manufacturer of the cylinder, not necessarily the name of the door its applied to, failing that, you may have to find a locksmith who will call the manufacturer for you to get the cuts from the code and cut the key
ultimately it may be the code but no one is willing to help you make the key. that stuff happens.

on that style of lock the key moves it to it's next combo... it has 4 combos set in it... ie;
....R-L-R
1: 3-6-8
2: 4-7-2
3: 0-5-8
4: 2-1-3

So if the current combo were #1 or 3-6-8 putting in the key and turning would then change the combo to #2 or 4-7-2. Get it?

now the number you have on the back is the serial number that lines up with the combo sheet that has the 4 possibles and then the sheet has the key number for that series of combo lock in that locker block.

This combo lock fits into [school] lockers, and it's likely that the keyway is restricted. I know Master Lock locker combo locks of this type are restricted, and they refuse to have any dealings with second-hand ownership of ANY kind. You still might check with your local locksmiths, but chances are they wont be able to help.

well the masterlock ones are ilco catalogue 1092VB... it doesn't say it's restricted... the key that comes with that style of lock is stamped "registered do no duplicate" but thats about it...

i'm not sure about the yale ones though and that picture doesn't help me identify it all... then again... that number on the back isn't the key code

V11861 put into code source does find 2 matches. One is for a master combo lock but does not give any key cuts. The other match is for citroen, it does list cuts for a 5 pin lock. It finds nothing for a Yale for this number.

by the name of the door its applied to, I was suggesting that if a lock is on a cheap fire box, that may have a name like sentry or fyr fyter or whatev, the name sentry is not necessarily the name of the cylinder and its manufacturer,
