Sourceforge masterkey project

I'm sorry to start a new thread, but this one was so old:

that I thought it might deserve a total rebirth.

1 - What happened to the old project?
2 - Now that we have some new blood and some of the old blood recirculating this could start happening again?

I'd suggest UNIX philosophy: Make it work first and then think about how to make it usable to others

I haven't seen even one commercial system in my life, but I'm thinking that I make myself a program to masterkey Abloy Classic systems. No, I'm not a professional coder, but I know a way to do things with C++

To anyone thinking about writing a master keying software, I first recommend doing a few master keying jobs. What a system looks like on paper can look very different in real life. You will also learn about the actual needs of a locksmith and a customer when designing a key system. I dove in head first and it was a scary but effective learning experience.

I always liked this idea, i would have prefered you carry on the thread thats already got replies and multiple pages discussing it but who am i to tell you what to do lol


I love the idea and think it should be moved along, if were keeping this thread you need to start cutting and pasting a lot of the info already on there to this thread so it saves a lot of discussion time, if nothing else whitehats observations and suggestions should be copied over as they were good goals,

I would love it if you decided to carry that thread on though as 2 threads on the same thing seems a little pointless to be honest but this is personal and not official so you obviously do as you want and if thats to keep this thread then fine i shall not hold it agaisnt you or at least until we meet again one day jk
