HI-TECH locks

Postby roth » 25 May 2004 21:58

Can someone plz help me find some information on hi-tech locks ie advanced locks that can't be picked with the normal lock-picking tools such as picks and drills (you know, like the ones in the spy movies) . I am very interested in these types of locks but it seems very hard to find any information on them on the net. I've tried google, yahoo, altavista etc, all to no avail

Links and websites would also be helpful.

Cheers :D

You might try looking through one of the numerous "unpuckable locks" threads, or using the search function. I remember something about a fiber optic lock, using lasers and such, and another that used magnets and some other strange stuff. I realy dont see a need for all this high tech stuff, as if a medeco isnt tough enough to pick.

.... :)

Try looking under "high security locks" as well. Tech really isn't that descriptive of a word.

Plus, theres not that much info on picking them anyways. For a reason: high security locks. If there were so many ways to defeat them, then they really wouldn't gain that title.

Look up Medeco locks, Kaba-Mas...Matt Blaze has a great site, complete with photos and all. Greg Miller also comes to mind, in terms of the basics. And the well known and loved manual, The MIT Guide to Lock Picking gives a few references as well.

...read up on previous threads. If you haven't noticed already, searching is pretty much the all around answer given here. Mainly because you're questions have already been answered to a degree of acceptance or two. :)
