Milwaukee Padlock

Postby Tygart » 19 May 2007 18:25

Has anyone heard of a Milwaukee padlock?? Its a Milwaukee 763.

I have not been able to open it yet. I just got it at a yard sale. Three pad locks 10 cents a pice, Master #1, Master #263 (Wafer) and Milwaukee 763. Also I got a 99 cent store one "Diamond" that has an ood key but I really don't care about that one.

Thanks
Tygart

Is it the Milwaukee "twistkey" padlock?

I don't understand what you mean by twistkey?

I just found on the top it says MAGNUM by Milwaukee

I believe Milwaukee made an old padlock called the twistkey, and basically, it looked like a warded key with its blade twisted.

Ok no it is not a warded key.. It is about the size of a master #3.

I don't know what the problem is. I had the Master Lock open in about 30 seconds. Be sure to keep light tension, start with Pin #5 (the first pin you can see in the cylinder) and work your way in. Also I find I it opens easier counter clock wise.

I have not been able to open the Milwaukee 763 with Single pin picking. But I can rake it open in seconds.

I just recently got into the lock picking hobby and I found a MAGNUM - 763 Milwaukee Lock Company hanging in my basement. I found your post while trying to find out about it. I’ve been able to rake it pretty easily as well. I’ve had success single pin picking it but that seems to be very temperamental.

I wonder if this is a knockoff of a Master lock. In my brief search so far master lock is the only result I’ve found while searching for info on this lock.

Nope. But it is up there.
