On all the locks I have, mostly deadbolts, if I stick a pick all the way in and lift all the pin stacks, them apply very light tension, I find I always set just one pin. I've tested this time after time by releasing the tension and I only hear one pin fall.
Is this a sensible thing to do or am I tricking myself into a problem I don't know about??
It's what I don't know that is subject to bite me.
