Hi, David Harris of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Ive been looking into this and reading a lot of posts with lock picking and it sounds really interesting and a fun thing to do as a side hobby.
Ive gone to basically all the websites that you guys have listed and read all the terms and contracts and well they won't sell me a lock pick set unless i am an offical locksmith or something of legal value so they know im not a theft.
Ive come to you guys to ask for some help becuase ive bought some lock picking books to get into it but have no supplies or equiptment to start this fine hobby with.. If you could kindley direct me to a site that has no problems selling to me and of course would ship to canada.
Thanks so much for you time and i look forward to hearing from your input soon.
Sincerly: David J Harris.

Just order the picks, they won't ask u anything..
I have ordered from lockpicks.com and multipick-service.com
I prefer the lockpicks.com -cheaper..

Actually, they do. All the web sites I have visited ask you to agree to a statement that you are a bone-fide member of the locksmith trade or other business that has legitimate use for lockpicking tools.
I suspect many hobbyists that order picks consider agreeing to this statement as a "little white lie". But that doesn't make it right.

Thats true. Most sites ask if your a bona-fide locksmith. And if you're not, and you click that you are, then you therefor transfer all of the websites responsibility to your own. They are no longer held accountible.
I'm a bona-fide locksmith.
........at heart.

Thanks For The Replys.
Do you guys think i should order a set anyway? i mean when it goes trough customs think it might get stuck there ?
plus what is the worst that could happen ? they take my picks away ? or i loss $ 30 for the lock pick set ? that's no big deal

In the thred below this was talked about. You can't get in trouble if the pick's are in the mail (it's not possesion) but im not sure of the possesion laws in B.C. , Alberta , and Saskatchewan because these provences have different laws for lockpicking tools.
Check out this thred on the topic: viewtopic.php?t=2271&highlight= , it may be helpfull.
Check out Romstar's post's, but others may be helpfull as well.

just buy from lockpicks.com

Hi Deed.
The site you mentioned with the cops on the front page is lockpickshop.com. I am also in Canada, and have ordered from them with great success. I have had no problem with customs (mind you, I don't know that I haven't just been lucky) and I got my order even quicker than I expected.
If you enter LP101 in the coupon box while checking out at lockpickshop.com, you will receive 10% off any regular priced merchandise because you are a member of Lockpicking101.
Good luck, and happy picking!

If you have any experience with dremmel tools or grinding wheels, you might want to grab some carbon steel hacksaw blades/allen wrenches from a hardware store and make your own.
Even if you don't have experience with that sort of thing. I just grabbed a Dremmel (well, Black and Decker) off a store shelf for $30 ish and banged out a few tools with no prior experience, just some reading and a view of Pyro's video about making them. The first one I made, a hook, has become by best friend... regardless of how ugly it looks.
Plus, I personally find making those tools to be as relaxing and enjoyable as using them.
