Ok I you know what the inside of a look looks like right??

You have Springs on top, below are the driver pins and below that are the key pins

To open a lock you press up the key pin untill the driver pin goes past the sheer line, then your key pin should drop back down! If it doesn't then you have an overset pin.

So to answer your question, no do not press the pin up as high as you can.

i suggest you read a little more, and find illustrative literature, its very helpful.

you dont have to see all the pins, you see the first pins. however, all pins are pushed based on what you feel not on what you see.

So what your saying is you just push some pin's up and it should pop open because iv spent literaly hour's after hours after hours doing that.. But what your trying to say i think is just press the pin's down it's ok if they come back down like normal. Or they are sposto be like half way?

of course, i have disassembled only one padlock so far, but have opened many more.

practice is a best way to get into it. try different approaches, put your tension tool differently, pick from back, pick other way. if you cant open it, get another lock and practice on some other.

Get a cheap, average lock cylinder.

Take it apart.

Look at it. See how it works.

Pin it down to 1 pin. Pick it five times in each direction with the one pin. Move to two pins. Lather rinse repeat.

It really, really is the best way to start.
Security pins and other mischief such as you might find in the lock you're playing with can't be tackled until you've laid the groundwork.
