Anyone played with the TriTeq locks? The IR ones?
I am wondering the following.... Will a Learning IR remote clone the key? Is there software for emulating the key using a JetEYE IR interface on a computer or palmpc. hmmm.
I have used tubular picks for vending before, being a locksmith... just wondering what I would have to do if I ever get a call on the Royal Vendor High Visibility machines with TriTeq IR Locks....

i'll be honest with you...... i havent the foggiest what you're talking about, but im about 80% sure its advanced, i can see that you probably dont have advanced access yet, so i understand your asking it here.
i wish i had an answer for you, but i dont.
but really, Learning IR remote sounds awfully advanced to me. that, and usually things like vending machines or many tubular locks are reserved for the advanced forums.........
oh, and Royal Vendor High Visibility machines with TriTeq IR Locks sounds really intimidating, whatever the <bleep> that is.
my advise? build up your post count, you sound like you probably have a lot to contribute to the forums. build your post count, stick around, and eventually you will get advanced access, and then you can literally ask anything you want. its cool.

I've been here since mar 2006, I answer when I can but usually im not online enough due to working 62 hours a week avg. So its a matter of post count, ok...
May be advanced, not trying to pick a machine just wondering if anyone knows anything about the triteq system. They're cool on how they work and learning remotes are not exactly advanced in my book, they have been around forever, point an IR source at one then press learn the key to learn and whamo - universal remote. they worked pretty good in laser tag arenas lol, IR laser guns walking around with a remote control scoring points ... tangent, lol sorry.

This is an electronic lock, operated by a device similar to a car remote, so yes, it is considered advanced. There's some information about it on the manufacturers' web sites:
http://www.triteqlock.com/html/auto_traq.html
http://www.royalvendors.com/html/service.html - see the HVV manual
From Royal Vendor's manual:
The TriTeq electronic door lock provides the control board with one signal line to determine the status of the door and lock. It consists of a motor-driven bolt (mounted on the door), an electronic nut receptacle (mounted on the cabinet), an infrared signal receiver, and an infrared key. The infrared code for this lock cannot be decoded if the key is lost or stolen. If the key is lost or stolen, it will be necessary to change the lock code as soon as possible. It is not necessary to replace the lock in order to re-key it.
A learning remote may or may not work, depending on how the system works. If you have to work on such a machine without the key/remote, call Royal Vendor or TriTeq. I doubt there's any other non-destructive way to open it.

Some remotes might be able to copy a key. I don't think that it would be able to open the lock through the "press off/mute until the tv responds" process.
