Custom Lockpick Templates

Postby Pilot2242 » 3 Jun 2007 5:42

Hello

I've created some lock pick templates of my own design.
You can open the pictures wih Microsoft Paint (All Computers have this program unless removed), And just click Print and it will print to the proper scale.

I'll keep adding templates to this thread as i make them.

You can download 3 rake templates i made Here

A lot of people, including myself, will not download zip files. Download WinRAR and upload it as and RAR. More people will check it out.

I clicked on the link, downloaded it and then decided to not open it and right afterwards I saw your post. :D
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

The only files in the zip file are 3 jpeg files. My antivirus software is current and found nothing out of the ordinary.

File one is similar to the king and queen and 2 and 3 are more along the style of the Bogota. The first one looks interesting, how well do they work?

I'll happily host these for you, uncompressed, if you'd rather.

Hello

Sorry about posting a .ZIP file, i'll redo it with winRAR now.

File one is similar to the king and queen

Well i desided to make a pick template almost the same as the king and queen but i added an extra bump to the tip. It works verry well and it rakes smoothly over the pins. It also can open a lock quite quick.

2 and 3 are more along the style of the Bogota

Well i've never seen a pick with that design before. I've just looked into it and you're right.

By the way, i've only made the first pick, i was going to make the other two tomorrow.

Just to let you guys know, There is no viruses or files that will harm you're computer in the ZIP file.
But i'll redo them with winRAR anyway.

Here is a link to the RAR file: Click HERE

I hope all the file trobles are worked-out now :)

I'll try to get some more templates up in this thread as soon as i can.

I believe zips can self-extract and self-execute.

How would you use the first pick. The one that looks like the king. Would you use a raking type movement or a lifting profile type movement ?

I love to make my own picks so I made some from your template and they worked pretty good for raking. They wont open harder locks that require precision picking though. p.s im a newb so maybe they will work and im not using them the right way. thanks for the templates!

A-HEM!

Depends. If it is packed as an executable file (.EXE) then yes, it is self-extractable file, otherwise no. Self-execute, depends also. If the programs default is set to execute for example a SETUP.EXE found from the archive then yes, otherwise no. If I remember correct, the ZIP-fileformat doesn't specify any self-execute flag.

Historically both WinZip and WinRar have had security issues that don't depend on self-executing versions of archive files. A search of - WinZip security - or - WinRar security - will find past notices of security issues. Using the most recent version of either decompressor improves your security profile, but is no guarantee of future safety as there have been zero-day exploits for either format.

Now back to our usual program.
It's a good day when I learn something new.
