Diebold bank door

Postby JoeyGirl » 1 Jun 2007 14:16

Hello, I work for a family who have an old bank door (Diebold) that they have lost the key to. We had a locksmith come and pick the lock and open the door. He informed us that it is impossible to re-key the lock, it has a mushroom head (?). Is it true that we must replace entire locking mechanism or can this be re keyed (key impressioning?) ? :?:

to get an answer

to get an informed answer, you need to post a good photo of the lock from both the back and the front. make sure the photo dosent have obscured details, keep trying till you get a good one, then post it and link it here, someone will know your answer.

Sounds like he couldn't do it and tried to pass off the blame. I can't imagine there being such a thing.

If it's Diebold then it can certainly be done.
Probably just beyond the skills of the attending Lock Jockey...I only know of one commonly found Mushroom Head, and I always keep mine handy...

Hmm I don't think any lock is impossible to pick.
