I recently got a hold of some old locks that came from slot machines.
I took a few apart and their are cams and ball bearings inside them.
what type of lock is this and how would you pick this, I was told by the lock smith I work with that a water soaked pop sickle stick is how you pick this, honestly i do not see how. Can anyone shed light on this?

You need to post some pictures of the locks. Then someone may be able to help you. Why won't the locksmith show you how he does it?

Maybe what the locksmith described there was some sort of an impressioning method. 
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

If I remember, these were Sargent Keso Dimple locks in spam that were attacked using the popsickle stick impressioning method....
