Try lubing it with wd40 or something similar than putting it in a vice grip and yank it out

water probobly wouldn't help. how did it get in there? were you trying to pick the lock? If so, it might be caught because it got stuck in between two pins. Try inserting another papercrip (don't bend the tip though- leave it strait), and raise the pins in front of it to release the old paper clip. If that fails, it might be worth it to buy some lube.

So let me get this strait...

You tried picking your font door lock with a paper clip, it got stuck inside the lock, and you can't get it out. If your parents find it, your screwed.

Hmm... interesting. Lol.

Well, anyway; try gripping the paperclip with something strong like vice grips or plyers, and yank that baby out of there. If all else fails you can take the screws out from the inside of the door (assuming it's a deadbolt), and open it up.

I am afraid if he yanks on it will end up breaking. Your best bet is to tear it apart and see if you can get it out that way. :? The only other thing I have to say about this whole situation is

LOL! We always say go out and buy a practice lock. Specially if you are a kid. ROFL. If you cant work out how to get something out that is stuck you are kinda into the wrong hobbie. Water in locks is bad news. Look if you have too much grief i would fess up to your parents as its better for them to get it out than for you to rip out the bottom pins and then you really have to get your parents to pay money to fix the lock.

We just did help. Go tell your parents and stop buggin us. We say do not break rules here. If you do not want to listen to us when we say do not play with front doors, then why should we help you now. Sit in the corner until you can behave and play nicely with others.

Now you have to either tell them or take it apart and get the piece out. By the sound of things you better leave that lock intact in the door and fes up to your parents. If you dont they may decide to leave and lock the door and not be able to insert the key to get back in. I know a lot of people who dont have their locks keyed alike and only carry a key for one door. Sorry but I have to say this HAHAHAHAAAAAAAA! I am rolling on the floor as I type.  :!:

Yea man, if a small bit is broken off inside the lock your screwed. I bet you moved it up and down in attempt to remove it, right? I bet it wouldn't have broke if you asked your parents to remove it, and they would have saved 40-50 dollars for a locksmith to come and remove it.

Take a pair of pliers, and yank it out. Hopefully you break it, but thats the chance you took putting it there in the first place.

Paperclips

Postby Romstar » 30 May 2004 13:41

This whole sad tale is exactly why I never tell beginners to start with paperclips.

Oh well, live and learn I guess.
