Can I order from the Foley-Belsaw catalog?

Postby blake1803 » 13 Jun 2007 1:02

I'm not a Foley-Belsaw graduate or anything like that; I just requested a print catalog from their website. It arrived and I'm surprised by how low their prices are.

My question is fairly simple: can you order from them if you haven't gone through their training?

My reason for not understanding is slightly less simple :P

When I go to their online order form I can enter in the product #'s from the catalog, and when I get to the "checkout" step it asks me for my shipping info, etc, but also my "customer/VIP #". I looked in the back of the catalog at the mail-in order form, and it also asks for the number and says it's on the back cover of the catalog.

On the back of the catalog there are two numbers above my name and address. The first is a 9-digit number and below it is an 8-digit number, followed by the letters "LTD." On the back of the catalog itself and inside the catalog near every page number, it says "Catalog Code: LTD."

So, I just wonder if that first number is my "customer/VIP #", or if I don't have one because I am not a graduate of their training program.

If someone who has gone through Foley-Belsaw training can let me know if they have the same types of numbers and the "LTD" thing and all that on their catalog too, that would be helpful. And if anyone who isn't associated with Foley-Belsaw but has been able to order could shed some light on this, that would also be very helpful!

I know, I know... I could call them tomorrow, but it's 11PM and I'm wondering now

Look for a number right above your name on the address label that is on your catalog, or envelope that it may have come in.
It is an eight digit number. That's your customer number.

Thanks - I'll give it a shot. Odd that there's a 9-digit number right above my 8-digit number, but if there's a problem I'm sure they'll just contact me.

Unless you're aiming for the key machine I would suggest www.locksmithtoolandsupply.com instead of Foley-Belsaw. They carry way more products and some of the prices are better.

I've ordered through Assured before and I agree that they do have a nicer selection (although a good deal of it is in the out-dated PDF catalog), but with a couple of exceptions, the stuff that is actually available in the FB catalog seems significantly cheaper from FB than from Assured. HPC products in particular (although I generally don't use them) seem pretty highly marked up by Assured.

Unless Assured has a print catalog with cheaper prices that I'm not aware of..?

Well when I took the locksmith course from them I did recieve a printed catalog from them and it said that all who take their course will get 10% off their purchase from Assured. I have since lost the catalog so I'm not sure if the prices in their was lower or not but I'm hoping after I take the lockout course I'll get another one.

My advice is shop around. Foley is lower on some things like key blanks but for tools they are way higher than alot of online shops. Also, when you get a catalog from Foley Belsaw that is labeled "wholesale catalog" ignore it. The priced for most of the products in it are higher than their regular catalog.
