Can't finish the job

I've read a lot of the guides posted on the forum however I can't seem to finish picking the lock. The first time I tried to pick a padlock it opened after one minute, I also then managed to pick a cylinder. However now I just can't get these two locks open.

It appears to me as if all the pins are set and when I move my pick across them it feels as if all are set. However I just can't turn it. Sometimes I get one pin that is still open and I just can't seem to push it down.

I'm not sure whether it is me or the lock. If need be I can include a picture illustrating what I mean but as of yet I was wondering whether there are any tips on what I can do.

What locks are you trying to pic? Post a picture and it will give us more information aswell.

I don't think it has security pins as it doesn't mention on the website so it must be my technique.

You sure you read that site correctly?
"5-spool pin tumbler cylinder for added pick resistance"
It looks like it has some security pins afterall. Try to pick the lock using very light tension and then see how you go. When you push up on one of the pins that you think you have set, then plug should rotate slightly backwards. This is how you tell whether it contains spool pins or not.

Thanks very much. I forgot what spool pins were (I remembered reading about them somewhere on this site). I will give a go doing what you said and search around for some threads on spool pins. I will report my progress. Thanks

your welcome, and good luck! There are HEAPS of threads on here about spool pins. You wont have any trouble finding all the help you need. Don't be discouraged either if you still can't pick it, it sounds like quite a hard lock for a beginner.

The sad thing is that I picked it straight after receiving my picks and then I was scrubbing. I then picked it the next day. Now a few days later I can't :p

Sorry I keep double posting but there is no edit option ...

I haven't really managed to find detailed information on how to overcome this. I managed to get I think 3 pins set or 4 then the lock moves a little bit and I assume that is when the spool gets stuck. Then I am left with a clean path except for one pin; this seems to be impossible for me to set.
