Buying sets online - shipping to new york state

Is it legal to buy lock picks in NYS?

I live in a small town, so buying online is ideal, but I am worried about the legality of this. Thanks.

I doubt it'll be a problem. My first pick set was from a spy store in NY. Check the General Info forum and look for the Law thread. It'll list every states laws about pick tools.

Unless I have intent to use it, I should be fine.

BUT, will I still be ok getting it through the mail?

Your best bet is usually going through somebody who ships UPS. From what I have been told there are issues with USPS sometimes. I have always used UPS and never had any problems, and it is generally quicker anyway.

Generally neither UPS or USPS rarely ever screens the mail content. LockPicks.com almost always uses USPS and I have never had any problems with them in the past 5 years I've been shopping with them.
