Hey everyone
So i bought this yale lock last week from the shop i work in to be my first practice lock, i learned how to pick it in about two days and since i have picked it a few hundred time for practice. It now does not work with the key and i am just wondering if this is normal if you pick a lock too much. I am not really bothered as i can still pick it but i am thinking of returing it on the grounds of it being faulty and getting a better one.
you've probably got a stuck pin.
give the side of the lock a hard smack on the side opposite the pins. make sure you do it on a piece of timber so you dont damage the lock anymore.
It could be possible that some brass filing could be causing the pins to jam in there if you did pick it hundreds of times. Especially if you used a lot of force with the pick tool or raked it a lot.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture
