falcon sfic picked to control

i got this from schuyler today and then when i got home i had it in my hand for 20 minutes and just tried picking it by hand with no sfic tool and almost as i was about to give up it opened the control. this has to be a fluke and luck, ive never tried sfic ever before.

Congrats it is always a great feeling when you open a new type of lock.

Not to discourage you but yes, picking the control shear line w/o a IC tool was prolly just luck...

I always manage to pick one of my SFIC locks at the control shearline with a Peterson Pry Bar. Managed to get it at the operating shearline once but that was it. My other 7 pin lock always opens at the operating shearline but not the control.

falcon are a bit easier then best SFIC's, but picking to control is still quite difficult. it really depends on the bitting and master keying and all that. at any rate good job, i have only picked an sfic to control once before and its a great feeling.

That keyway looks a lot like the Medeco KeyMark I have. Which pick did you use to get it open?

medium to light tension and i used a south ord crappy small half diamond and the last 2 i used a long hook for 1 or 2 pins last.
