Factory Schlage pins have a point to the bottom pins as well, where as the Weiser pins don not have a point, they are more stubby. Using stubby pins in a Schlage lock will sit too high sometimes because the cut's root width is not wide enough. Weiser's root width is wider by comparrison.
Schlage's root width is .039"
Weiser's root width is .079"

Been playing with locks since '68.
