hey im planning on buying this set of double sided picks from southord.com http://southord.com/images/fullsize/dss-4.jpg
any way i can not find any information any where about how to use picks like these. They are to pick disc tumbler locks like on display cases, but i am confused on how they work. Does anyone have any help or know of a good link to a tutorial. Again i am looking for help in picking and understanding disc tumblers.
Thanks alot

if you're talking about disc tumbler locks ala abloy... those have nothing to do with them.... you won't be able to pick it for along time and discussion of picking them is against forum rules in the open forums

well that seems a bit pricey when regular picks generally do the trick for me, any way, i know they are "high security" which is probably why i cant find much on the net about them. how do i get access to the advanced forums?

It's confusing because southord have their lock terminology wrong. For the description of these picks it says "These high quality carbon steel double sided picks are for opening disc tumbler locks." It should say wafer instead of disc.

yeah i know that was the first thing that confused me and as i read more i couldnt figure out how they would be used for a disc tumbler lol any way. you dont even realy need those to pick a double sided wafer right? i dont do it often but a full ball pick or diamond should work right?

Wafer locks have been referred to as Disc Tumblers for DECADES. You just have to know the difference.

does no one read the rules or new user welcome links when they make an account on the forum? search man, search.
It takes 5 minutes to scroll through all the FAQ's, Stickies and other useful info.
patience young grasshopper.

I love it how you decide to buy tools that look shiney then look for the lock they pick lol,
They are for double sided wafer locks they arent great and only fit certain locks due to their size,
I made my own and have never used them, i suggest you dont buy tools before knowing what they are for or at least decidning to buy tools before knowing what they are for,
