H&TV PADLOCK

H&TV PADLOCK

hi have a old padlock, H&TV stamped on the front and back, oppsite the first pin there is hole , what am I up against , all I could learn from my LLS was that it could be 70yrs old .
no chess player is normal they only differ in the extent of their madness

How about you tell us what the lock has. If you do a search for "security pins" it should give you detailed instructions on how to identify security pins. Once you have picked it you can pull out the plug and see what pins is in the lock. Sorry I could not find any mention of the lock, however if it only has 4 pins you should be able to pick it. Please keep us posted how you go.

thanks for the reply, found out today the padlock is made by H&T Vaughan and they were bought out by YALE in the early 20th century, the front pin is a bit weak and does not always spring back,I think that there should be a pin in that hole? also it has 5 pins ,(new to this thought provoking game, really enjoy all the posts to )
