legge 2" 2 lever lock

Postby horsefeathers » 3 Jul 2007 14:01

Anyone got one of these kicking around?

Looking to replace an old Legge 2 lever lock (nickel) but 51mm rather than usual 64mm/76mm. I cant find it in Duffells/Aldridges and can only see it in Citysafe but they are out of stock. I think the legge number was 157NP. It is not an essential replace, but as it is in an old aluminium door the cut out is perfect for this particular lock, with this backset.

Anyone got one for sale at all? Please!

Try your local Builders merchants, probably best bet for getting one, I picked one up a month or so ago.
Failing that you could fit a Willenhall 2".

If the lock isnt damaged then change just the lever pack.

the case itself is so old that the keyway hole has become badly egg shaped so customer (oap) cant keep key perfectly horizontal when locking/unlocking. The looseness of the key flapping about means it cant always engage properly levers/stump.

I cut her a different key (longer bit) to help alleviate this slightly but she is happy to replace lock - if I can get one!!

Some people just dont want to hear what you are trying to sell.....!!!!! It took an effort just to convince her that her lock has worn out. Plus her 60+yr old son kept sticking his nose in.

I don't know if I'm missing something here but I thought the Legge 2" locks
are being remanufactured and called Ex Legge.

Sahlock on page 17.7 and deadlock on page 17.3 of the new Duffells
catalogue.

worth remembering that the bs3621 rating to a lock only applies to a timber door and does not apply on an alluminium door, which has its own bs guidelines.
