pins that bind really easily

got an american 1105 lock and ive tried light lock oil and the pins(which appear to be all serrated from the view of the keyhole)bind extremely easily even with the lightest of touch.

i did notice theirs a small bit of grit in the lock as my picks come out dirty.
is their a way to sorta wash out the crud? any feedback would be good

Even new locks I get seem to leave stuff on the picks. I'd guess maybe lock companies put graphite in them at the factory?? Anyways here is a thread that should help you if it is crud.

Yep thats kinda the point of serrated pins. I have herd that u can use wd40 on American padlocks and this helps glide over the serrations because they are so small (hank le.nutzman for that tip). but i personally don't recommend it.

If your new to picking (just assuming from your post cost) then you may want to start with something easier than an American brand padlock.

Its nothing to do with the pins, its the lock that binds, click my www button to see this explained better,

Putting oil in the lock will be whats attracting the shite you have in your lock, oil in locks is a bad thing,

The others have assumed what your asking where i wont, i dont know what your asking here, you mention serated pins but the actual post just says your binding the pins easily which has nothign to with the pins form, as i say thats the lock,

The actual answer i think your after is to use less tension or get used to not letting the plug turn so much when you set a pin,

Picking serated pins wasnt what was aksed but if you are having issues on those they are mentioned in hundreds of other threads if you have a look around,
