pick sets in melbourne?

Hi i was thinking of purchasing a pick set but i was unable to find any stores that sold them. I was wondering if anyone here knows a place in melbourne, australia that sells them.

Picks are usually purchased from overseas. It is near impossible to source them locally.

Correct me please if im wrong but isnt lockpicking illegal (carrying picks) in oz and thats why you cant buy them locally?

Your most likely to get the best prices through the internet anyway but if you look at the sale section you will see whitehat selling some (as said) and hes your side of the world,

Certainly not! AFAIK they're illegal to carry arround in canberra and the NT, but in the other states it's a bit more grey. in QLD for instance they're only mentioned under the vagrancy laws and you have to prove intent as usual.

I think (dont quote me on this) that the laws in melbourne state that if you are caught with lockpicks and you have the intent to use them in an illegal manner then that is illegal. Unless they see you wearing all black, a balaclava and standing in front of a house that isnt yours then im not sure how they would prove intent. Like whitehat said, its a grey area. But obviously you would not have intent to commit a crime if you were attending a lockpickers meeting.

I agree with marco but I still wouldn't want to be seen by police with lockpicks at a meeting in Melbourne :roll:
