Hello All,

I have just recently moved from Ohio USA to Sydney Australia. While unpacking I found my old lock tools at the bottom of an old box. I had moved the same shoe box along with me for years. I used to be quite good with them 20 years ago. I tried them just for fun and either locks are tougher here in Australia or old age is creeping up on me. I am happy to have found the web site. It should keep me reading for a long time.

hey, get hold of JHL on this forum, hes opened the first Locksport International (L.I formerly LSI) group in Australia. not sure about area but have a look in the "locksport local" forum and hes about.

What kinda of locks have u been tackling there. from what ive herd you will have a mixture of Euro, American and Chinese stuff. I would love to see a picture of your tools. compare them to what we are using today. I assume the basic design would be the same but even so.

this site is really nice though, it looks like i could spend hours looking at stuff.

anyone have ideas on the absolutly easiest/best starter lock to pick? :wink:

hey guys, im also new but i love this stuff, i hope to possibly even become a locksmith someday but for now its a hobby/interest. i like being able to access an area people think is impossible and think since they lost their key they will never get their stuff back but then i am able to get to that area and retrieve their belongings for them. there is no better feeling then helping someone especially when it involves locks.

I wanted to get into the Locksmithing Biz as a job and see where it will take me.I found this Lock out program from Chris Pearcy in New mexico I believe wanted to know if anyone would heard about it and if good or a Training Course thats excellent and affordable.And ive been looking at 5 or so sites about getting a Full Locksith set of tools and a full set of Auto tools so I'll have everything I need to eventually start the Biz.I was reading ur guys postings last night and thought u guys could help ne save money and aggravation on Trial&Error so I'd appreciate the input?Cause I haven't bought anything yet and wanna do it right once if I can,ya know.

Welcome everybody,
For all thoes new to the site and lockpicking, LP101 is a great place to start.
Take a look at the new users section, first and don't be afraid to ask any questions just remember to try a search before posting. Cause everyone should HYSF as well as there Pick-fu.

If you're looking for locks to pick, buy some but, DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON
I repeat DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON, they can and will break, then your house/car/safe/chasity belt is vulnerable or unable to be opened (think: emergency situation).
Keep it legal.
