First Pick American Series 40

So I picked my first lock today during lunch at work. It was an American Lock Series 40. After about 5 minutes of just feeling around, I stuck the tension wrench in and started playing. About 2 minutes later, it opened... I'm hooked....[/img]

Congratulations and welcome to the site and this hobby! That padlock is definitely one that isn't considered a starter lock so its kinda surprising you got it open so easily. I do have to ask though, was this padlock yours and if so are you currently using it to lock something up?

Its most likely one of the four pin cylinders. You can usually tell by the keyway and the 'K' stamped on the retaining plug
